Connect commercial fishing with government catch reporting.

mIzvješće is a mobile reporting app for Croatia’s Directorate of Fisheries, part of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. It gives commercial sea-fishing operators a direct way to submit official fishing reports, replacing paper records with structured trip, catch and landing data.

The problem

A regulated reporting process has to work from the vessel.

Commercial fishing operators must report their activity to the Directorate of Fisheries. The record connects a vessel and its departure with fishing gear, fishing areas, species and quantities, then return, landing and any sales made from the vessel. Those details need to remain connected in one official report.

The solution

Translate the reporting process into a mobile workflow.

The Android and iOS apps organise reporting around the stages of a fishing trip. Operators record departure and gear, enter fishing effort and catch, complete return and landing information, record sales from the vessel where applicable, and submit the report to the fisheries administration. The government’s mSustav portal supports review of reports entered through the mobile apps.

The experience / 01

Submit a complete trip record to the authority.

The current published interface brings departure, fishing effort, landing, sales from the vessel and the landing declaration into a single report. The orange “Pošalji izvješće” action sends the report to the Directorate of Fisheries.

Record what was caught, where and with which gear.

Fishing-effort records connect the gear and fishing area with the species caught. These are structured reporting fields for commercial fishing activity, rather than a personal catch diary.

The experience / 03

Carry the same reporting workflow onto a tablet.

The published tablet interface shows the trip-reporting workflow on a larger screen. It retains the official report actions, including landing and sales records, with a clear submission control.

The result

Digital public infrastructure for commercial fisheries.

The product connects fishing operators’ records with the government’s electronic reporting process, covering fishing activity, catch, landing and sales from the vessel on Android and iOS.
